Almost 1.8 million passengers passed through the airport in the first six months of 2014.

Furthermore, last month was the most successful June in the history of the airport, with 369,000 passengers using the airport.

June was the sixteenth successive record month, and it also saw a record for the highest number of passengers welcomed in a single day (14,400).

“Achieving such good results despite the investment that's being carried out at the airport has been made possible thanks to the successful cooperation of airport services and general contractors,” commented the airport's CEO Jan Pamula.

A new terminal is currently being constructed, and it is hoped that it will be ready by March 2015.

The highest growth at the airport in June was notified by Lufthansa (about 9000 passengers), Easyjet (about 8000) and Norwegian Air Shuttle (about 5000). (nh)
