Polish automotive producers may export goods worth as much as 19.4 billion euro in 2014, according to a forecast from sector research firm AutomotiveSuppliers.pl.

Such a figure would not only be higher that last year's 17.9 billion euro. It would also surpass the previously observed record-high level, 19.2 billion euro in 2012.

The market monitor sees good perspectives for Polish car parts mostly on the markets of CEE countries, such as Hungary and the Czech Republic. It may be fuelled by a growing local production of cars and car engines.

Polish producers are also counting on increased demand from Germany and other western European countries.

So far, Germany has been by far the biggest importer of Polish automotive goods, with production worth 5.4 billion euro sold there in 2013.

Other important markets were the United Kingdom (1.6 billion euro), Italy (1.5 billion euro), France (1 billion euro) and the Czech Republic (1 billion euro).

Research by Exact Systems shows meanwhile that Polish automotive producers expect that production volumes to grow in their factories. Some of them, like Solaris Bus & Coach, have recently launched investments to expand their production capacity. (kw/pg)
