In spite of a fall in revenues by 5 percent since last year's ranking, PKN Orlen's takings were still almost 10 billion euro more than that of Hungarian oil rival MOL (2nd place), with PKN Orlen managing 27.5 billion euros against MOL's 18 billion euros.
Czech car firm Skoda Auto came third, with revenues of just under 9 billion euros.
Besides PKN Orlen, four other Polish concerns made the top ten: supermarket group Jeronimo Martins Polska, gas firm PGNiG, energy giant PGE and oil firm Grupa Lotos.
The 148 Polish firms on the list generated 34 percent of the combined revenues of the 500 Central and Eastern European firms. Nevertheless, the number of Polish companies on the list has dropped by 23 since last year's ranking. (nh)
