The seasonally adjusted net employment forecast for the fourth quarter of 2014, published by Manpower Group, is 6 percent.

It could translate into 53,000 people finding jobs and the unemployment rate declining by 0.2 percentage points.

The company’s survey showed that 13 percent of Polish businesses plan to create new jobs and 8 percent plan to cut employment.

“Our barometer shows trends on the labour market and so far it was never wrong,” Iwona Janas from the Polish unit of Manpower Group told Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

“In the following quarters unemployment should continue to decline, but I am not in a position to give accurate forecasts,” she said.

“Compared to other CEE countries we look very good,” Janas added.

“Only Romania has a better net employment growth forecast, at 9 percent.”

Manpower expects the highest employment growth in the transport, logistics and communication sector (15 percent), trade (14 percent), industrial manufacturing (10 percent) and hotels, restaurants and catering (10 percent).

In the construction sector, the forecast has been stable at 7 percent for the past six quarters.

Janas is convinced that the TSL and industrial production sectors will maintain the highest demand for both specialists, including engineers, and qualified workmen. (kw)
