Banks to help Poles with Swiss franc mortgages

“The primary objective of the package is that customers do not pay a higher installment than they paid before the [Swiss central bank’s] decision to uncap the franc [against the euro],” Krzysztof Pietraszkiewicz, the head of the Association, told a conference on Thursday.

Pietraszkiewicz added that the banks have already agreed to the proposals put forward by the Association. “We appeal to banks to implement the solutions proposed by the Association on 1 February if this is technically possible,” Pietraszkiewicz added. (rg)
