Unemployment down in Poland

The situation on the labour market might be showing signs of improvement, with unemployment standing at 11.2 percent in April, the Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Tuesday.

The figure had stood at 11.7 percent one month earlier, while in April 2014 unemployment was 13 percent.
The figure last month was in line with the predictions of analysts polled by ISBnews.
In this year's Budget, the government assumed that the unemployment rate would reach 11.8 percent in December 2015. However, representatives of the Labour Ministry have repeatedly signalled that figure could be below 10 percentage points by the end of this year. (rg)
