The programmes deal with the purchase of medium-range air defences, submarines and missile-defence of ships docked in ports

These three offset programmes will be supervised by the Defence Ministry, a ministry spokesperson told a parliamentary defence committee on Wednesday.

Stanisław Butlak, the director of the office of offset agreements at the Defence Ministry, said that the programmes which have filed an intention to obtain offset agreements involve medium-range air defence (Wisła); submarines (Orka programme), and an integrated system of protecting naval forces in ports, estuaries and anchorages (code named Ostyga [Oyster]).

As many as 25 orders were accompanied by a review that offset programmes were unnecessary in their case, because of their placement in the Polish industry which is both a supplier and a receiver of the contract, even in the case of the use of components from abroad.

One such programme is the Homar (Lobster) programme – to build a long-range rocket launcher. (rg)
