Polish computer game company CI Games has announced that it is to invest about PLN 40 million in its forthcoming release 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.'

Sales of the previous two instalments in the 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior' series have run to 5 million units.

Marek Tymiński, head of CI Games, says that the latest edition is intended “to define a new quality in the sector of sniper games.”

The substantial budget of PLN 40 million follows on from the successful investment of PLN 45 million by fellow Polish company CD Projekt RED in 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt', a fantasy role-playing game that has enjoyed enormous popularity, like its predecessors.

'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3' revolves around a fictional conflict involving Georgia, NATO, Russia and separatists.

According to Tymiński the characterisation will not be black and white, and the question as to which party is in the right is open to debate.

'Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3' is to be released in the second quarter of 2016.

Poland's production of computer games is undergoing major development at present. Earlier this year, US-based services firm Sperasoft announced that is setting up an office in Kraków, in a bid to capitalise on this trend. (nh/rk)
