Agencja Turystyczna Zawadzkie posted messages on its website and Facebook page announcing that it is insolvent and no longer able to take bookings.

The collapse comes just days after another agency, Alfa Star, fell into similar difficulties.

We have been informed that at the moment there are 150 people abroad and the agency has asked us to handle the matter of returning these tourists to Poland,” commented Violetta Ruszczewska, spokesperson for the Province Chairman's Office in Opole.

Of course we will do this,” she confirmed.

According to Ruszczewska, about 60 of the stranded tourists are in Spain, while the others are in Greece, Italy, Croatia and Bulgaria.

All the tourists went by coach, so we will use coaches to bring them back to Poland as quickly as possible,” she added.

If there are any problems with accommodation, we will deal with each of these problems,” she said. (nh/rk)
