Six months ago it was reported that unless new regulations entered into force by the end of this year concerning a framework for career qualifications, Poland would lose the funding.

The government is currently working on a draft legislation.

Deputy Minister of Education Ewa Dudek has assured that work on the final act is in progress and that the ministry expects consultations to begin in November.

Dudek claims that the final laws must be in place at the end of 2016 and that functionality is of higher importance than the regulation itself.

Despite many ministries needing the framework, such as the Labour Ministry, the Education Ministry is to create it.

The framework is in place virtually all over the EU and it allows all citizens to check which courses, workshops, and exams they should complete to work in a given occupation.

Ensuring that the national framework is cohesive with other member states allows citizens mobility across the EU.

Institutions have requested that Ewa Kopacz expedite work on the framework in the hope of more students and job openings.

Creating a framework for qualifications requires detailed occupation descriptions and what kind of schooling is needed to successfully work in a given profession. (ua/nh/rk)
