During the first eight months of 2015, the average occupancy rate was 68.2 percent, whereas in 2014 it was 64.1 percent, and in 2013 62.9 percent.

The rise has been attributed to improving economic conditions in Poland, increased tourism and the growing wealth of society in general.

However, industry insiders are concerned that prices in Poland are too low. The cost of a hotel room in Warsaw is lower than in Budapest or Prague.

Likewise, Polish investors are increasingly having to compete with the capital of foreign chains. (nh/rk)
