LOT launches Tokyo link

Polish air carrier LOT has launched a new connection with Tokyo featuring their Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The first of three weekly flights to Tokyo took off from Warsaw at 3 p.m. CET on Wednesday, with an expected flight duration of 10.5 hours.

The airline hopes the new connection will benefit many aspects of the economy.

Marcin Celejewski, Director of LOT, said that he believes this flight will encourage Polish-Japanese partnerships in business.

As far as tourism is concerned, there has been a steady increase of visitors from Japan and other countries in the region of late.

The is the first long-range flight after the restructuring of LOT and if it proves to be successful, the company may add another long-range flight this year to Seoul, South Korea. (ua/nh)
