Belarus buys four Polish PESA trains

Polish train producer PESA has signed a EUR 19 million deal with Belarus to supply four diesel locomotives with carriages.

Belarusian media reported that the trains will be leased, with a leading Polish bank supplying a loan of around EUR 19 million. The deal has been guaranteed by Belarusbank, the largest Belarusian state-owned bank.
PESA, based in the northern city of Bydgoszcz, is a leading producer of railway vehicles, including trains and trams.
This is the not the first such deal between Belarus, Poland’s northeastern neighbour, and PESA. Last year, PESA supplied Belarus with three trains. (rg/pk)
