On average, Poles earned PLN 4,137 (USD 1,091, EUR 963) a month, up 0.9 percent on January. The figures were roughly in line with what analysts expected.

Experts say rising wages are boosting consumption, the main driver of GDP growth.

The Polish economy is set to grow 3.8 percent this year and next, and 3.4 percent in 2018, according to a report released by the central bank (NBP) earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley has revised upwards its forecast for Polish GDP growth this year from 3.2 percent to 3.6 percent. (pk)
