Almost half of Poles admit they bought a counterfeit product over the last two years, according to a survey carried out for the Rzeczpospolita daily.

In total, 48 percent of people surveyed said they had bought a counterfeit of a well known brand, while 39 percent said they had not.
Poles most often acquire such products online or at a local marketplace, tempted by the low prices on offer compared to genuine brand-name goods.
The most widely-bought fakes in Poland are perfumes, clothes and shoes, Rzeczpospolita reported. (pk)
