According to a recent report by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), Polish businessmen perceive Germany as an attractive country in terms of investment opportunities.

According to 79 percent of those surveyed, the state of the German economy is either good or very good.

The largest companies with Polish capital operating in Germany are chemical companies Ciech and Boryszew, copper miner KGHM, mining-equipment manufacturer Kopex, and refiner PKN Orlen.

These companies are mostly located in the region of North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous state in the country.

Polish CEOs praised Germany’s infrastructure quality and predictability of the economic policy, as well as the attitude of the public administration, including tax institutions. They also point to honesty and payment discipline among business partners, and qualified personnel.

Polish companies complain about high taxes and labour costs, as well as excessive bureaucracy.

However, 96 percent of Polish businessmen say that if they were to choose the location of foreign investment once again, they would still opt for Germany. (ał/rg)
