"A decision to leave may have a negative impact on the economy across Europe, especially on the UK economy," Morawiecki told reporters following intergovernmental talks between Polish ministers and their counterparts in Berlin on Wednesday.

After meeting Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said both countries wanted Britain to remain in the European Union.

Meanwhile, Mariusz Adamiak, an analyst with PKO BP bank, said a so-called Brexit may result in a fall in exports of Polish food.

Britain is one of the top importers of Polish fruit juices and dairy products.

Britain “is an important destination for [Polish] exports and it probably will not come to an end in case of a Brexit, but there may be problems at a later date. Including for the whole economy," Adamiak was cited by Poland’s IAR news agency as saying. (pk)
