Deputies were almost unanimous, with 439 voting in favour of the cut, nobody opposing it and three abstaining.

A government-proposed change would see a cut in tax paid by firms whose sales revenue is under EUR 1.2 million a year.

According to the government, the change should help boost the economy in the long term and help entrepreneurs.

The proposed cut will now be debated by the Senate, the upper house of parliament.
