In May, unemployment stood at 9.1 percent.

The latest figures, which are in line with previous estimates by the Labour Ministry, indicate that the situation on the Polish labour market is improving from month to month.

The fall reflects a boost from seasonal work as well as an increase in demand for labour amid steady economic growth, experts said.

There were 1,392,500 people registered as unemployed in labour offices last month, down from 1,456,900 in May. (pk)
