The deal, signed in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei, means citizens of Taiwan and Poland doing business in both countries will be able to pay taxes only in one of them.

Polish Deputy Development Deputy Minister Tadeusz Kościński told Polish Radio: "If you look at the economy of Taiwan, it is similar to the Polish economy. Twenty three million people live here, and 38 million in Poland.”

He added: “We are partners for cooperation. Taiwan lies in the heart of Asia. It’s a good place through which to enter Asian markets.”
