Amazon, the world’s largest internet-based retailer, announced the new logistics centre is a response to increased demand for its services from Poland and Europe, onet.pl said.

A Polish-language version of Amazon’s German site was launched last week.

According to onet.pl, the new 67,000 square meter logistics centre worth PLN 410 million (EUR 95 mln) will be built in Kołbaskowo, northwest Poland, and will employ 1,000 people.

Since 2014 Amazon has invested PLN 3 billion in three logistics centres and two offices in Poland which employ 5,500 people on a permanent basis. (vb/pk)
