Moody's lowers Poland’s GDP forecast

The Moody’s rating agency has lowered Poland’s 2016 GDP forecast to 2.8 percent from an earlier projection of 3.1 percent, according to a report published on Thursday.

The forecast GDP growth for 2017 was lowered to 2.9 percent from an earlier 3.0 percent.
“Slower-than-expected quarterly growth raises the risk that annual GDP growth will be below three percent,” read a report, as cited by the PAP news agency.
The projection was dropped due to the “slowdown in global and regional growth, investment and trade”, the Moody’s report said.
In May, the New-York based rating agency decided to reduce Poland's outlook from Stable to Negative, while keeping the rating unchanged at A2. (rg)
