A new Polish Development Fund (PFR) has set up a “one stop shop” to make life easier for businesses, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Wednesday.

He said the one stop shop was part of the government’s strategy for responsible development, introduced after the Law and Justice (PiS) party swept to power in October last year.

The Polish Development Fund will coordinate banks, insurers and investors to make support for business available in one place, said Morawiecki, who also heads Poland’s development and finance ministries.

“No one believed that we would be able to integrate such a diverse environment,” he said, adding that 120 websites, several call centres and a number of government institutions have been brought together.

“Each of them certainly tried to perform well in its own field… to put the Polish economy on the right track, but there was certainly something missing … integration, synchronisation of different economic activities,” Morawiecki said. (vb/pk)
