International IT conference brings hundreds to Warsaw

The Rockit digital summit, a two-day international networking conference for some 300 people interested in new technologies, kicked off in Warsaw on Thursday.

People from the government and private sectors, NGOs, businesses and media from nearly 30 countries in Europe and Asia have attended the event, which is organised by the Information Society Development Foundation (FRSI).
It includes dozens of presentations and several panels which will be broadcast online.
The summit coincides with Tech Camp, a two-day workshop for some 50 participants, which was held in Warsaw and ended on Thursday.
Both events deal with online journalism, the “fake news” phenomenon, and verifying information online, among other topics. (vb/pk)
