The Startberry accelerator is to kick off in Warsaw in July. It has been set up by three companies - EY, Senfino and Microsoft - and aims to provide young firms with technological, business and legal support and with access to office space.

At a meeting about the project at the Ministry of Development, Morawiecki, who is also deputy prime minister, said the initiative would help foster young local companies. "I would like them to create added value with international partners," he added.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that start-ups are playing an important role "in stimulating digital transformation” in Poland.
