Retail sales, industrial production up in Poland

Poland's retail sales rose 9.7 percent in March compared to the same month last year and climbed 16.5 percent from February, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.

Industrial production in March rose 11.1 percent year on year, and was 17.6 percent up on February, according to the statistical office.
Analysts surveyed by the PAP news agency had expected March industrial production to grow 6.9 percent year on year and 12.7 percent month on month.
Industrial production in March increased in 29 of 34 branches of industry, according to GUS.
