The Warsaw-Newark connections were suspended in the autumn of 2012.

LOT COE Rafał Milczarski said that Newark is one of the major airports for members of the Polish community on the US Eastern coast, serving also as an interchange airport for people living in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

There are now four weekly flights from Warsaw to Newark, with a fifth one to be introduced in the summer.

Newark is fifth on the list of the most popular long-distance destinations from Warsaw, after JFK Airport in New York, Chicago, Toronto and Beijing.

2017 has seen an expansion of the Polish national carrier’s long-distance operations. Earlier this month, direct Warsaw-Los Angeles connections were launched and Kraków-Chicago flights are to be introduced in July.
