Many Polish employees short on enthusiasm: report

Meanwhile, more than a third of such employees say they often feel impatient, irritated and anxious in their job.

The author of the report, psychologist Małgorzata Czernecka from the Human Power company, said: "We usually realize that negative emotions affect us negatively.

“On the other hand, few of us realize that in order to be successful or to work at the optimal level of our abilities, we should feel positive emotions - joy, optimism, enthusiasm," she added.

Studies have found that only 55 percent of Polish employees start the day with optimism and enthusiasm, while one in five say their day begins with negative emotions.

The "Work, power, energy in Polish companies" report by Human Power is the first study of its kind.

It was conducted on a sample of 1,149 managers and rank-and-file employees in large Polish firms.
