More than 45,000 people had visited the Polish pavilion at the international Astana Expo 2017 fair in Kazakhstan by the end of June, officials have said.

Expo 2017 is an international exposition taking place from 10 June to 10 September. Its focus is on future energy sources.

More than 100 countries and international organizations are taking part.

The Polish pavilion at the fair has seen an average of 2,000-3,000 visitors daily.

"By the end of June, over 45,000 people had visited us, which was basically in line with our expectations, although we were counting on there being slightly more," exhibition official Andrzej Stefański told reporters.

Stefański said the Polish presence at the exhibition could help boost economic relations with Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
