Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Polish President Andrzej Duda were at the signing.

Deals were also signed by the maritime ministries of the two countries.

The Three Seas Initiative connects 12 countries between the Baltic, Adriatic and Black Seas, namely Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

The presidents of all but two – Austria and the Czech Republic – met for a two-day summit in Warsaw on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday they were joined by US President Donald Trump, who commended the initiative and said the summit was “incredibly successful”. (vb/pk)
