Losses after the spring frosts have been estimated at over PLN 1 billion, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Meanwhile, violent storms which battered Poland on Friday night and Saturday morning killed six people and injured 54 others, damaged some 4,400 buildings, including over 3,000 residential buildings, and wreaked havoc in forests in Poland's north and west.

Farmers will also be able to apply for aid in rebuilding agricultural buildings hit by the gales, with up to PLN 100,000 available from the government.
