The announcement confirmed a flash estimate issued at the end of last month.
Inflation stood at 1.7 percent year-on-year in July, 1.5 percent year-on-year in June and at 1.9 percent in May.
Analysts approached by Poland’s PAP news agency last month had expected the prices of goods and services to rise by 1.8 percent in August year-on-year and to remain unchanged month-on-month.
