Outbound money transfers by foreign workers in Poland have been growing by leaps and bounds for several quarters.

The first quarter of 2017 saw a record PLN 4.3 bn in such transfers. In the second quarter the figure rose higher still to PLN 5.3 bn.

In the first half of the year Polish employers filed up to 950,000 documents with the Labour Ministry declaring they were willing to take on foreign workers, 50 percent more than last year.

Over 904,000 declarations involved Ukrainians, compared to 640,000 recorded the year before. (aba/pk)
