Six charged in Polish corruption probe

The chairman of the supervisory board of Poland’s state-controlled Grupa Azoty, the country’s largest chemicals maker, is among six people charged in a corruption probe, according to media reports.

According to investigators, suspects in the case allegedly demanded PLN 40 million in bribes and in return promised delivery orders involving companies in the Azoty Group.
Among the six detained are an employee of oil refiner Lotos and the head of a Warsaw energy company.
