Polish regional airline SprintAir, which offered flights from Radom to Lviv in Ukraine, Prague in the Czech Republic and Gdańsk in northern Poland, decided not to extend a contract with the airport.

Radom airport spokesman Kajetan Orzeł said that talks with a new carrier were underway. He did not give details.

Last week media reports suggested that the Radom airport could be taken over by the

Polish Airports State Enterprise, which holds shares in 15 airport-operating companies.

Radom has the only public airport in Poland built without financial support from the EU.

Some 9,000 passengers used the airport in the first nine months of this year.
