Poland’s central bank revises upwards GDP forecast

Poland’s central bank has revised upwards its GDP growth forecast for the country, saying on Monday it expects the economy to expand 4.2% this year.

The National Bank of Poland also said it expects inflation to stand at 1.9% in 2017.
In its July forecast, the bank said it expected the economy to grow 4.0% this year.
It said on Monday that it expects GDP growth to fall to 3.6% in 2018. Its July projection for next year was 3.5%.
The bank predicted the economy would grow 3.3% in 2019, unchanged from its July forecast.
The central bank also forecast that inflation would stand at 1.9% in 2017, unchanged from its July projection; 2.3% in 2018, up from 2.0% in its July projection; and 2.7% in 2019, up from the 2.5% predicted in July.
