Unemployment in Poland fell to a new low of 6.6% in October, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Friday.

The figure was the same as an estimate by the labour ministry earlier this month.
Joblessness was 0.2 percentage points down on September. Unemployment in October 2016 stood at 8.2%.
Family, Labour and Social Policy Minister Elżbieta Rafalska said several weeks ago that there were 1.07 million unemployed in Poland at the end of last month.
Rafalska said she hoped that next year the number of unemployed would fall below one million.
