Toyota to produce new-generation engine in Poland

Automotive giant Toyota said on Wednesday that it will invest PLN 400 million (some EUR 95m, USD 113m) in producing a new-generation petrol engine at a plant in south-western Poland.

Production of the 1.5-litre engine at Toyota’s plant in Jelcz-Laskowice will start in 2020.
“The investment will total PLN 400 million, which will increase Toyota's engagement in production projects in Poland to almost PLN 4.5 billion,” Toyota said in a statement on its Polish website.
The engine will be fitted in both hybrid and conventional vehicles. It will be used in Toyota cars that will appear on the market from 2020, the manufacturer said.
