GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2017 will be “at a level close to the third quarter... The result for the fourth quarter will have a very strong impact on the GDP result for the whole year and it will be quite high, much higher than analysts earlier predicted,” Kwieciński said.

The Polish economy grew 4.9 percent in the third quarter, according to the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS). GDP increased 4.0 percent year on year in the second quarter.

The World Bank has estimated that Poland’s GDP grew 4.5 percent in 2017 as a whole.

Kwieciński was appointed minister for investment and development on Tuesday following a sweeping Cabinet reshuffle.
