According to the Polish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, demand for Ukrainian workers in Polish retail and wholesale outlets rose by 28 percent last year, while hotels nationwide were ready to hire 72 percent more employees from Ukraine than in 2016.
Personnel Service, a company specialising in recruiting Ukrainian workers for Polish employers, says that growing demand for sales assistants and waiters from neighbouring Ukraine is a result of factors including linguistic proximity.
Most Ukrainians quickly learn Polish, which makes it easier for them to work directly with customers, Personnel Service says.
