Polish GDP grew 5.1% in final quarter of 2017: stats office

The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in the final quarter of 2017, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Wednesday.

The reading confirmed a flash estimate by the office earlier this month.
Investments in the final quarter rose 11.3 percent while and domestic demand increased by 6.1 percent, the office said.
The economy grew 4.9 percent year on year in the third quarter, while GDP growth for the whole of 2017 was 4.6 percent, the office noted.
It added that domestic demand was the key driver of economic growth in the final quarter of last year.
