Unemployment inches down in Poland

Unemployment in Poland crept down to 6.6 percent in March from 6.8 percent in February, the country’s labour minister, Elżbieta Rafalska, said on Monday.

There were 1,093,500 people out of work at the end of March, 33,200 fewer than in February, the ministry of family, labour and social policy said.

Joblessness in Poland stood at 6.5 percent in November, the lowest in the last 25 years, while December’s reading was 6.6 percent, according to the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS).

Unemployment in February inched down to 6.8 percent from 6.9 percent in January, the office said.
