Fewer Poles plan to take up jobs abroad: survey

Fewer than 12 percent of Poles of working age are considering taking up jobs abroad, the lowest figure for four years, according to a survey.

A study commissioned by the Work Service employment agency found that higher wages in other countries are the main motivation for Poles planning to emigrate.
Poles most frequently want to work in Germany, followed by the Netherlands, which has replaced Britain as the no. 2 country of choice.
However, among those planning to head off abroad, the percentage of Poles who want to remain in a foreign country for good has increased, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The study was conducted by pollster Kantar Millward Brown at the end of March, asking over 700 people about their plans.
