According to Leszek Pawłowicz, one of the Congress’ organisers, the event will consider the funding of infrastructural projects, new technologies in finance, Poland’s ageing population, and low unemployment.

Jan Krzysztof Bielecki, chairman of the Congress’ board, said that, for the first time in the event’s history, the more than 1,000 participants are set to “try to make their own macroeconomic forecasts.”

The European Financial Congress was set up in 2011 as “a platform for debating the issues of security, financial stability and economic growth in Europe, and for discussing measures to ensure a successful future for Poland and the European Union,” according to the event’s website.

The three-day event culminates with the announcement of recommendations which identifies the challenges facing the economy and proposes solutions for economic development. (vb)
