Retail sales up 7.6% in Poland in May: stats office

Retail sales in Poland rose 7.6 percent in May compared with the same month last year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said on Thursday.

Sales of fuels climbed 18.9 percent in year-on-year terms, while sales of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics rose 10.1 percent.
Sales of furniture, household appliances and consumer electronics increased by 6.5 percent.
In terms of constant prices, retail sales rose 6.1 percent year on year in the country in May, according to the Central Statistical Office.
