Work on the satellite lasted three years. The ICEYE-X2 will weigh some 85 kg and will be part of a network of 18 satellites around the Earth.
It will be equipped with a SAR radar created by Polish-Finnish company ICEYE which will allow observation of the Earth's surface regardless of weather conditions.
Polish space-sector company Creotech Instruments was responsible for work including the construction of selected components of the satellite.
Late last year, a government agency unveiled a draft programme under which Poland will shell out millions to develop its own satellite systems and space technology.
