Nine in 10 Poles working in retail are happy with a law limiting trade on Sundays, according to the Solidarity trade union.

A study by the union found that 90 percent of women and 92 percent of men in the retail sector were upbeat about legal changes introduced in March.
The rules allowed shops to be open on only the first and last Sunday of each month, with some exceptions.
The head of the Polish Retail and Distribution Organisation, an employers’ group, said year-on-year sales had fallen in the period since the law came into force.
Renata Juszkiewicz added that this was disguised by the fact that that consumption overall was growing.
According to the study by Solidarity, employees now feel less tired.
However, workers have pointed to problems including bigger queues on days preceding trade-free Sundays, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
