The labour ministry earlier estimated that unemployment in Poland in September stood at 5.8 percent.

There were 947,400 people registered as jobless in employment offices nationwide in September, down from 958,600 in August, according to the Central Statistical Office.

The office revised downward its estimates of the Polish jobless rate for June and July to 5.8 percent for both these months from the 5.9 percent it previously reported.

According to the EU’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, joblessness in Poland dropped to 3.4 percent in August, the second-lowest rate in the 28-member European Union.
