Record year as foreign tourists flock to Poland

A record number of foreign tourists are expected to visit Poland this year, officials have said.

Robert Andrzejczyk, head of the Polish Tourism Organisation, said that last year 18.3 million foreign tourists visited Poland, up 4.5 percent from 2016.
He added: “We already know that 2018 will be a record year, because in the first six months the number of foreign tourists rose 6.6 percent, which really is a huge success."
Andrzejczyk said that the number of tourists from China jumped by a massive 55 percent last year, while the tally of visitors from Israel was almost 50 percent up on 2016.
