The US is again accepting supplies from 16 Polish producers who have export licences, while limitations still apply to three others, public broadcaster Polish Radio's IAR news agency reported on Friday.

The restrictions were introduced last Thursday after US animal inspectors expressed concern about the locations of the Polish producers, citing concers about the spread of African Swine Fever.

Poland's chief veterinarian said that producers were located in African Swine Fever-free zones.

The African Swine Fever virus is deadly to pigs and wild boars but does not affect humans.

The first recorded outbreak in Poland was in January 2014. (vb/pk)
